join us on the land at SUSU commUNITY Farm for a special sound bath and ritual journeying with the life and teachings of bell hooks.
rooted in bell hooks’ powerful concept of homeplace, this immersive experience invites us to explore what it means to cultivate spaces of refuge, healing, and belonging, both within ourselves and within our communities.
through the healing power of vibration and sound, we will journey together into the body, allowing bell hooks’ vision of love, care, and resistance to come alive through embodied practice.
what to expect
the summer solstice is a powerful seasonal threshold, a time of light, renewal, and honoring the wisdom that sustains us. Together we will create space for rest, reflection, and connection, bringing homeplace and sanctuary to life.
you will experience a gentle and restorative evening that includes:
a guided sound bath meditation journeying thru the wisdom of bell hooks teachings on homeplace
a plant medicine tea journey connecting with the wisdom of herbal allies
collective medicine making, we will close with plant medicine making ritual
a living Black archive
this sound bath is part of our Black archival practice of storytelling, where we honor and bring to life the teachings of Black women and femmes whose wisdom continues to shape our collective paths.
through ritual, sound, plant medicine, and embodied experience, we remember that these teachings are not only meant to be read — they are meant to be felt, practiced, and lived.
