About the course:

The year long unbodying white bodied supreamcy course supports white folx in exploring new ways to be in their bodies and begin the process of healing from white bodied supremacy, capitalism, and disconnection. It is a process of being part of a collective community of folx with a similar desire to engage in Somatic practice, Ritual building, and Embodied wisdom. This offering supports us in exploring the ways in which white supremacy harm us, the way it protects us, the ways we perpetuate it, and the ways that we can heal from it while beginning to align with the wisdom of collective liberation.

This course is led by Amber Arnold who is a Woman of Color and one of the stewards of the SUSU commUNITY Farm. Her belief is that it is incredibly important for white folx to move through this process using a model of reciprocal accountability. This includes inviting the support of white folx who have a strong analysis and long history and track record of doing  anti racist/ liberatory work, and inviting the support of People of color who have a strong analysis and track record of doing this work in and with community. Both perspectives and worldviews are important, crucial, and necessary and will help us create space and increase our containers capacity to successfully and safely navigate discomfort and learning.

This course will ask you to contend with: Do you want to FEEL comfortable or do you want to BE nourished

Transparency around paying for this course:

The SUSU commUNITY Farm is a non profit organization we are an Afro Indigenous stewarded farm in Southern Vermont. We offer life affirming spaces for Black, Indigenous, People of color to THRIVE. Along with opportunities for white folx to heal from white supremacy and capitalist culture and thoughtfully integrate into a multiracial culture where all people can thrive. One of the ways we create this space is by creating jobs for BIPOC in Vermont to work in an environment that is radically aligned with our beliefs of what working in a liberated culture looks and feels like. Your payment for this course goes towards building our capacity to offer sustainable and thrivable salaries for BIPOC folx in Vermont. This means this payment doesn't go directly to the facilitator of this course but back into the collective pool of resources to build a sustainable SUSU. Your support makes a huge impact in our ability to secure safety and thriving in Vermont for BIPOC folx.
