October Pop-Up Adventure Playground at SUSU commUNITY Farm

You are invited to a Pop-Up Adventure Playground!  

This is a temporary play space held at SUSU CommUNITY Farm, where children’s freedom is the top priority.  Everyone will have full access to an abundance of recycled, repurposed, and natural materials such as cardboard boxes, ropes and fabrics, to recreate, dismantle, and transform as they please!  Trained volunteers will be available to provide low-interventionist support in response to the play that emerges.  

This youth-centered space is open to all kids but may be most suited to those between the ages of 2 and 12.

Dr. Morgan Leichter-Saxby, a local playworker and co-founder of Pop-Up Adventure Play, will also be offering further conversation for caregivers regarding Playwork (a decades-old professional approach towards supporting children’s play), therapeutics of joy, reconnecting with play in adulthood… and whatever else people are curious about!

Pre-registration is helpful but not required and there is no cost to attend.

Light snacks will be provided, and there will be tented areas for shade.

You are welcome to bring your own chair and other items for accessibility and comfort.

There is an ADA accessible port-a-john style bathroom on-site.

The terrain is mostly grassy with two separate paths to the lower field, one with a graduated decline and one that is more steep. There is an all terrain vehicle with seatbelts available to support with mobility.
