Ancestral Voices: Yoruba Level 2: Intermediate class

The Susu Healing Legacies program is a (reclamation) of our ancestral birthrights and connects people of the African diaspora to the wisdom of the motherland.

(Ancestral Voices) is a series of interactive African language classes that are open to everyone but are especially supportive to people of the African Diaspora.

For our first series, we are offering Yoruba with Shittu A. Fọwẹ́wẹ́, an ancient African language that reflects a living culture.

Equally beneficial to practitioners of Traditional African Spirituality and folks looking to connect to their roots, (Shittu) will offer three levels to build on skills and learn about Yoruba culture.

About the Instructor: Olùkọ́ni Oríadé Ìpọ̀sọ́lá Ajétẹ̀lú, formally known as Shittu Abdullahi Fọwẹ́wẹ́ is a young scientific native speaker and teacher of Yorùbá Language and Culture.  He had this saying: "I am a teacher by birth, training and interaction". He has deep knowledge in Yorùbá, Arabic & English. So, as a linguist, he interacts in his class with students with a special approaches suitable for easy assimilation, understanding and self-development.  He is an open spiritual teacher and has trained many students in diaspora in acquisition of Yorùbá Language and culture.  Finally, no man without a town, he is from Sakí, Ọ̀yọ́ State, Yorùbá Land, Nigeria.

Cost: The cost of this course is $400 which equals $20 per class.

Level Two: Intermediate

Build upon level one and prepare to go even deeper into language comprehension as we expand upon conjugation and other rules of language structure.

Level two is also an introduction to Yoruba spiritual concepts

Class Dates:

This is a 10 week long course with a 1 month break before moving onto level 3. There will also be free weekly study group opportunites

December  7th 2021-February 20th 2022 (no class week of December 21)
